I cannot count on three full seasons at Man Utd - Amorim

Manchester United head coach

United's manager - seen receiving consolation after May's continental cup disappointment - states he is happy by Sir Jim Ratcliffe's long-term backing but underscored that tomorrow is uncertain in the sport.

The Red Devils' boss Amorim feels it's significant Sir Jim Ratcliffe went public with his extended perspective - but notes nothing is assured about the next day in soccer, let alone three years.

During a discussion with a leading newspaper in recent days, Ratcliffe stated it might require the manager three seasons to produce meaningful results at Old Trafford.

Coming in a period when the coach's tenure has been under scrutiny in the wake of a lengthy stretch of unsatisfactory outcomes, the statements assisted in calming a portion of the current stress.

However, talking ahead of the 100th meeting with old rivals the Reds at Anfield, the United boss underscored that the future is hard to predict in soccer.

"It's truly positive to hear it but he communicates to me all the time, sometimes with a message following matches - but understand, I'm aware and Jim knows, that soccer doesn't work that way," he commented.

"The vital factor is the following fixture. Despite having backers, you cannot manage tomorrow in soccer."

CEO the club executive has conceded it has required much more time for the head coach to adjust to the Premier League after his transfer from Sporting in November than anyone imagined.

The Red Devils have secured 10 times in 34 league games with the Portuguese coach. They haven't managed two league games in a row and have not ended a round of league games during this campaign better than ninth place.

The concerning numbers are stretching belief in the manager among the Old Trafford faithful approaching a run of games their club has been awful in for the previous two campaigns.

Amorim said he isn't experiencing the uncertainty inside the club at the club's Carrington training ground and is adamant nothing compares to the pressure he applies to the team - and in some senses, he would choose the co-owner to refrain from seeking to establish serenity because he worries the effect it might produce on the squad.

"It isn't merely a thing that people talk about, I experience it daily," he said. "It's certainly beneficial to listen to it because it assists our supporters to understand the administration know it is going to take some time.

"Yet concurrently, I dislike it because it creates an impression that we have time to work things out. I don't wish for that sense in our club.

"The expectation I place on the squad or on myself is considerably larger [compared to external sources]. In the sport, particularly at major teams, you must demonstrate yourself each weekend."
