Skydance Paramount Set to Remove Approximately 2,000 American Positions – Report
Paramount Skydance is scheduled to start mass layoffs beginning on 27 October, eliminating approximately 2,000 US jobs under a budget-saving initiative valued at $2bn led by CEO David Ellison.
The workforce reduction are a result of the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed this past August worth $8.4bn.
More overseas workforce reductions are anticipated, with the company planning to disclose full details in its Q3 financial results scheduled for November 10.
Earlier reports stated the company was looking to reduce between 2,000 to 3,000 positions by the beginning of next month.
As of December 2024, the company retained about 18,600 permanent and temporary staff plus 3,500 contract workers.
The organization has not yet commented regarding the report.
